FRIDAY IN THE OCTAVE OF EASTER YEAR II

WITH GOD EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE

Have you ever watch the movie "Mission Impossible"? It is a spy story with a lot of mystery and excitement. The actor Tom Cruise in real life was sent to an assignment which seemed impossible to accomplish. He would then choose a group of agents -- each one with a special talent -- who would help him to accomplish his mission. As you might guess, the super secret agents of the "Impossible Mission Force" were always able to complete their mission. The Mission Impossible becomes Mission possible.

Greetings!

Our gospel today reminds us that everything is possible if we are with the Lord.

Since the Lord has been put to death, the disciples went back to their old ways also. They go back to their work before. That is fishing. Fishing is a very good source of income during that time.  And Peter for sure is a good fisherman. However, this time, they caught nothing.

If we try to go back to the story of the disciples, we will understand that Jesus gives them hope. They even leave their work in order to follow Christ. But when Christ died, they felt that they lose everything. Hopes are gone. Now they try to go back their old ways. But still they were disappointed because they did not catch anything. And now Jesus appears and told them to do something about that net. This scene opens their eyes and gives them hope again.  Then, they realized that without Jesus, they can’t do anything but with Jesus everything is possible.

My dear friends, sometimes also we lost our hope, especially if we encounter difficulties in life. Like problems, crisis in our devotion and even in our situation. There is only one thing that we will do. Hold on to Jesus. Do not allow these difficulties; problems obstruct your dreams to be with God. Go on! Move ON! Walk on! For in God everything is possible.
